Technothlon is an international school Examination organized by the students of IIT Guwahati. The contest is organized over 2 rounds: a written preliminary examination (which takes place in numerous schools all over India in July) and mains - which is conducted at IIT Guwahati, among the top 100 students from each squad.

It is currently the premier physics competition for pre-university students from Asian countries. It is modeled after the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), and demands a similar level of intellectual capability from the participants. The only difference between APhO and IPhO is that a national team for APhO is composed of eight students at the most, instead of five for IPhO. The contestants are expected to be selected from general or technical secondary schools of the respective participating countries. APhO has several purposes: to assist in the preparation of Asian students towards the IPhO; to build a network among the leaders for further collaborative projects in physics education, such as creating physics competitions in their own countries, and to encourage Asian countries to participate in other international physics competitions.

NTSE organised by NCERT and it honours talented students by providing monthly scholaship. The Scholarship for Basic Science, Social Sciences & Commerce is provided upto Ph D level whereas for Engineering, Medicine, Management & Law the scholarship is given upto Post Graduation. The test is consist of MAT & SAT which is conducted in two level i.e. Stage-I for State level and Stage-II for National level.

Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India has launched a centrally sponsored National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Scheme. Under this scheme scholarship will be awarded to 1,00,000 students (a t National level) selected at the end of class VIII. The scholarship will start from Class IX and would continue till Class XII at the rate of Rs 6000/- per annum. The objective of the scheme is to award scholarship to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections to arrest their drop out at Class VIII and to encourage them to continue their studies till Class XII.

All school students from class 1 onwards are invited to participate in this unique contest that tests their understanding, level of knowledge, applications and power of reasoning.

The International Mathematics Olympiad is a means to encourage the mathematical creativity of children in schools across India and abroad. Every participant of Level-I is awarded a Certificate of Participation. Students get a chance to be assessed at International level.

National Cyber Olympiad nurturing cyber talent amongst the youngsters. It is an international level competition focusing on Mental Ability, Logical & Analytical Reasoning in computers and IT.

The "Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana" (KVPY) is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students of Basic Sciences to take up research careers in Science. Mathematics: The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India, which leads to participation of Indian students in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is organized by HBCSE on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). This exam is conducted by ‘Educating Youth for Sustainable Development Division’ of TERI. From 1999, ‘The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI)’ has been conducting ‘GREEN Olympiad’ project in India and abroad for students of classes VIII to X. Student can be taken either in English or in Hindi. Questions in this Olympiad are on environment issues.

Mathematical Olympiads are the competitions conducted by different organisations to identify, encourage, promote and nurture the talent in mathematics at state, regional, national and international levels. After having been accorded the status of an independent group by National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) in 1997, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi has been conducting CBSE group Mathematics Olympiad for students studying in its affiliated schools. The said competition is conducted in December every year at different centres located in different parts of the country. A maximum number of 30 students from CBSE group are selected strictly in order of merit to participate in INMO.

The International Talent Hunt Olympiad, a test of competence and proficiency in Science, Maths and Mental ability, is held annually at the national and international levels. • For Class 1 to 2: The paper will consist of 30 questions and the duration of the exam will be of 60 Minutes. • For Class 3 to 10: The paper will consist of 40 questions and the duration of the exam will be of 40 to 60 Minutes.

The International Olympiad of Mathematics (iOM) is being conducted for class 1 to 12. There will be 40 questions for 60 Minutes duration. It is promoting Science Talents in India and abroad.

There will be a separate question paper for each class. All questions are in objective-type with no negative marking for wrong answers. Duration of the examination for all classes is 90 minutes. Each question carries 1 mark. No. of questions are varies from class to class.
